30 employees of the Special Tasks Department of the MIA with the purpose of ensuring safety of mountain resorts within the framework of inter-coordination between the Ministries of Internal Affairs and Defense received technical summer mountain training. The training course was held in Stepansminda municipality, Chaokhi array and lasted ten days.
The representatives of the Special Tasks Department of the MIA, with the assistance of the instructors of Colonel Besik Kutateladze Sachkhere Mountain Training School learned to move on a difficult mountainous terrain, climb the rock with a partner, climb down the snow, take out of an individual fallen into a cleft, evacuation of injured and tackle the mountain peaks of different complexity.
Such large-scale mountain training between the law enforcement agencies was conducted for the first time. The aim of the course was qualification raising of the personnel of the Special Tasks Department and approximation with the European standards.
After completion of training courses the lieutenant colonel Mindia Lortkipanidze, the Director of the Special Tasks Department of the MIA, the lieutenant colonel Zaza Japaridze, the Deputy Commander of Armed Forces Training and Military Education of Georgia and lieutenant colonel Ivane Tskhadadze, the Head of Sachkhere Mountain Training School awarded the relevant certificates to all representatives of the Special Tasks Department of the MIA. The awarding ceremony took place at an altitude of 2250 meters in the camp “Zeta”, Juta village, Stepantsminda municipality.
With the purpose of ensuring safety of mountain resorts the employees of the Special Tasks Department of the MIA received the first technical mountain training course in winter, in Daba Gurauri. The course was conducted by the instructors of Sachkhere Mountain Training School. In the nearest future the third technical course at an altitude of 5000 meters and glacier hiking is planned to take place.
