Mr. Ilia Kochiashvili, police senior lieutenant, the employee of the 3rd Division of the Special Tasks Department of the MIA won gold medal at Powerlifting World Cup Championship in Lutsk, Ukraine. He competed 12 athletes in 110 kg weight category and became the Powerlifting World Cup champion
Ilia Kochiashvili, the member of Georgian National Team obtained the permit for participation in the world championship on March 12, 2016, after successful completion of qualifying round of the tournament. He was invited to the MPF/- Division (MILLITARY, POLECE AND FIRE - Law enforcement agencies) at the world championship. Powerlifting World Cup was participated by 427 athletes from 15 countries.
Ilia Kochiashvili, the employee of the Special Tasks Department of the MIA is also the Kyokushinkai karate professional and three-time champion of Georgia.
