The officers of Anti-corruption Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of operative-investigative activities detained Georgian citizens –Devi G. and Ednar G. for bribery.
Investigation established that detainees proposed 100 000 USD to the head of Ajara Division of Anti-corruption Agency- Emelsi Mukeria for extraction of inert materials from Tchorokhi River without any license.
On December 18 detainees handed 20% of the bribe (20 000 USD) to the head of Ajara Division of Anti-corruption Agency upon his request at one of the restaurants located in Tbilisi.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of bribery, article 339 which envisages from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment. Investigation is conducted by Anti-corruption Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
