In connection with World Day against Trafficking in Persons employees of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia handed out booklets on trafficking threats and measures conducted by government. Abovementioned informative booklets were published in Georgian, English, Russian and Turkish languages with support of EU Delegation in Georgia. Through active cooperation with partner states and organizations, Ministry of Internal Affairs continues effective combat against the abovementioned crime.
It’s worth noting, that preventive measures against trafficking in person is a crucial part of fight against the crime. In connection with this, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia joins awareness raising campaign through close cooperation with international partner as well as local non-government organizations.
In 2013, General Assembly of the EU designated July 30 as the World Day against Trafficking in Persons. This year Georgia like other counties marks the day with symbolic events, highlighting importance of trafficking problem and state announced will to prioritize the issue.
