The officers of the Rustavi police division of Kvemo Kartli police department as a result of the operative-investigative activities detained three persons –previously convicted and currently on probation Vasil L. (DoB 1984) previously convicted Zviad S. (DoB 1985) and Lasha S. (DoB 1998) for membership of the criminal world and extortion.
Investigation established that detainees are the members of the so called criminal world. On behalf of the criminal world, detainees extorted land area from Rustavi based businessman. According to the received information, they acted under the instructions of the one of the “Thief in Law”.
Policemen detained all of the accused persons in their apartments.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of membership of the criminal world and extortion committed by the organized group, article 223, I part and article 181, III part of the Criminal Code.
