The officers of the Main Division Combating Organized Crime of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of operative-searching activities detained in Tbilisi previously convicted Nika M. (DoB: 1994), previously convicted Davit B. (DoB: 1990), previously convicted Paata U. (DoB: 1974) for membership of criminal underworld.
The investigation established that the detainees confess the so-called criminal underworld and follow special rules established by the so called criminal underworld. They had an active relation with one of the thieves in law currently detained abroad and other members of the criminal world. The detainees systematically planned and participated along with them in criminal showdowns.
Also, it was also that the accused used to meet Georgian entrepreneurs, introduced themselves as the so-called future thieves in law and consequently through criminal showdowns asked them to pay a certain amount of money; the claims were accompanied by threats and psychological pressure.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of membership of the criminal underworld (I part of the article 2231 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
