The officers of Kakheti Regional Main Division as a result of immediate operative and investigative activities detained Ilia S. (DoB 1986) for committing premeditated murder.
Investigation established that on November 30 detainee shot assistant to the detective of Kvareli regional police station –Captain Gela P. (DoB 1970) in the back area with a cut gun and fled from the place of crime. The incident took place in Kvareli on the basis of conflict. Despite the surgery medics were unable to save policeman’s life. He died several hours later, after he was transferred to the hospital.
As a result of immediate operative and investigative activities Ilia S. was detained several hours later after committing the crime. He was planning to leave Georgia and flee to England. Detainee has already pleaded guilty. Investigation is in progress on the fact of premeditated murder, article 108 of the Criminal Code.
