The officers of the Division for Combat Criminals of the Main Division for Combat Organized Crime of the Central Criminal Police Department along with the officers of the Border Migration Control Unit of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Main Division of the Patrol Police Department of the MIA, as a result of jointly conducted operative and investigative activities detained in Stepantsminda Border Checkpoint previously convicted L. B. (D.o.B.: 1989).
The investigation established that in 2014 L. B. was recognized as a thief in law. The detainee actively cooperated with the members of the so-called criminal underworld and with the purpose of getting benefit participated in criminal skirmishes.
The law enforcers detained an accused when he was trying to cross the State Border of Georgia in Stepantsminda Border Checkpoint.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of being a thief in law (part II of the article 2231 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
