The officers of Ozurgeti and Chokhatauri regional divisions of Guria Regional Main Division, as a result of investigative activities held on the basis of operative information, detained members of organized criminal group: Malkhaz J. (DoB 1979) Shalva G. (DoB 1984) and previously convicted Shalva J. (DoB 1967) for preparation of armed robbery as well as for illegal purchase, keeping, carrying and transporting of firearms.
Policemen detained the mentioned persons in the vehicle owned by one of the detainee’s in the village of Bakhvi. During the personal search and searching activities held in one of the detainee’s vehicle law enforcers found: two AK-74 automatic weapons, three magazines and 105 bullets, two masks, scotch tape, gloves and five plastic handcuffs.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping, carrying and transportation of firearms and for preparation of armed robbery, article 236, I and II parts also article 18-179, II part, sub-paragraph D of the Criminal Code.
