The officers of Samtckhe-Javakheti main division of Patrol Police Department of Mia detained citizen of Turkey Ibrahim Akkaya (Dob 1953) at border point “Vale” who was wanted by Varshava Bureau of Interpol.
Ibrahim Akkaya was wanted by the law enforcement agencies of Poland and INTERPOL from April 9, 2008. He is accused of the crime envisaged by the Article 91-1 of the Criminal Code of Poland and Articles 43.1. and 3 of the Drug Abuse Act of 1997 (illegal drug trade). In October 1999 Ibrahim Akkaya along with other unidentified persons marketed a large quantity of drugs (several kg. of heroine) in the territory of Turkey. After the mentioned he made another person to carry this drug to the Netherlands. The latter transported the drugs by a specially modified vehicle from Slovakia to the Netherlands via Germany. In the period from middle October to December 24, 1999 Ibrahim Akkaya along with other unidentified persons marketed 20kg. heroine in Krakow, Waltz, as well as in the territories of the Republic of Turkey and Bulgaria. He coordinated transportation of drugs from Turkey to Bulgaria with the help of other persons.
Ibrahim Akkaya was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment. He was already placed to the Samtchke-Javakheti temporary detention cell. Extradition procedures are underway.
