The officers of Ajara Patrol Police Department as a result of investigative activities detained Turkish citizen Zubeiri Ch. (DoB 1967) for illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities as well as for smuggling drugs on the territory of Georgia. The mentioned person was detained at sarpi customs.
During the search of the bag and hand luggage police seized 42 pills of suboxin and 2 pieces of the same drug. According to expertise the seized drug contains 0,31 gr of buprenorphine. Investigation established that detainee smuggled drugs from the republic of Turkey.
Drug test revealed that detainee has been consuming drugs.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities as well as for smuggling drugs on the territory of Georgia, article 260, III part, sub-paragraph A and article 262 IV part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.
