The officers of Adjara Division of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, as a result of operative- searching and investigative activities carried out on the basis of operative information detained Gela K. (DoB: 1967) on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities in the vicinity of Sarpi border checkpoint.
The law enforcers during the detainee`s personal search seized 130 pills of suboxin, which – according to the expert report – contained buprenorphine. The expertise established the fact of abusing buprenorphine by Gela K.
Investigation is in progress on the facts of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in particularly large quantities (Article 260, part VI, sub-clause “a” of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
