The officers of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, as a result of operative- searching and investigative activities on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities detained previously convicted for drug crime Beka L. (DoB: 1987).
The law enforcers during the detainee`s personal search seized 34 pills containing 0.2699 gr. of buprenorphine and 3.5608 gr. of drugs in 34 packages containing 0.9044 gr. of heroin. The expertise established that at the moment of detention Beka L. was under the influence of drugs.
The detainee has already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the facts of illegal purchase, keeping of drugs in particularly large quantities and illegal consumption of drugs without medical prescription (Article 260, part VI, sub-clause “a” and Article 273 of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
