The officers of the Main Division Combating Illegal Circulation of Drugs of the Central Criminal Police Department, as a result of investigative and searching activities held on the basis of the operative information detained the citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran Alireza M. (DoB 1988) for the drug related crime in Tbilisi International Airport.
During the personal search of the detainee, police officers seized 158,79 gr of drugs, which according to the result of expertise contained cannabis resin, also 204 pills of so-called “bio” drug, which contained MDMA and 50,03 gr of psychotropic substance, which contained ketamine.
The investigation established that the detainee illegally imported the above mentioned drugs from Turkey to Georgia. Drug test made to Alireza M. revealed the fact of marijuana abuse.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs and psychotropic substances in especially large quantities and their illegal import to Georgia (Article 260 VI part, sub-paragraph A, Article 262, IV part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code of Georgia).
