The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department as a result of operative-investigataive activities and on the basis of the court’s relevant decision detained L.Ch. (DoB 1980) D.B. (DoB 1977) N.B. (DoB 1973) and N.K. (DoB 1980) for extortion and illegal restriction of freedom.
Investigation established that detainees extorted 150 000 USD from the certain businessman and demanded to appropriate 200 sq.ft of land area. With this purpose detained illegally restricted freedom to their victim threatened with physical abuse and released him from illegal custody after businessman agreed on their terms.
L.Ch. and N.B. were detained in Tbilisi while D.B. and N.K. were taken under arrest in vicinities of Mtskheta.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of extortion and illegal restriction of freedom article 181, II part, sub-paragraph A and C and article 143, III part, sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.
