MIA representatives participated in world championship in Karate which was held on April 4-6 in Pristina Kosovo. Sportsmen from various police units participated in championship and met other sportsmen in individual and team contests. Georgian Karate team from the Ministry of Internal Affairs consisted of three members: Koba Tsertsvadze, Levan Lomidze and Aleksandre Zhamurashvili. The championship is held on the regular basis in which professional karate sportsmen are involved annually. This year representatives from more than 30 countries were involved in championship.
Georgian team, despite strong contestants, has achieved substantial success at the championship. Georgian sportsmen contested with the team of the host country in final and won the third place. Koba Tsertsvadze won gold medal, while levan Lomidze and Aleksandre Zhamurashvili received bronze medals.
