Within the frames of the official visit to Georgia, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Archil Talakvadze held meeting with Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Monitoring Committee representatives, in particular co-reporters Boriss Cilevic and Sherstin Lundgren.
Deputy Minister familiarized guests with the implemented and scheduled reforms of the Ministry. Sides have also touched upon the issues related to liberation of the visa regime and difficult humanitarian situation in the occupied territories. Archil Talakvadze provided PACE Monitoring Committee representatives with detailed information on how Ministry of Internal Affairs responded to the incidents in 2015 that became the subject of public and media interest.
The visit was held with the aim to monitor the fulfilment of obligations undertaken by Georgia when the later became the member of European Council.
