Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri held meeting with ambassador of Germany Ortwin Hennig. At the meeting sides discussed issues of cooperation between the two countries in the law enforcing sphere. Minister outlined the importance of concluding agreement between Georgia and Germany on the fight against crime on the basis of which cooperation between German law enforcing agencies and Central Criminal Police Department have significantly intensified and became more effective. At the meeting it was pointed out that as a result of intensive meetings and information sharing, a number of cases of organized crime have been solved.
Sides also discussed Visa Liberalization Action Plan implementation and the planned visit of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia to Germany. At the end of the meeting sides noted the importance of the intensified cooperation between the two countries in the law enforcing sphere which is focused of crime reduction.
