The fifth Steering committee meeting of the EU-funded project on “Technical Assistance to Support Fight against Organized Crime” was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. The meeting was opened by the First Deputy Minister of the MIA, Mr. Kakhaber Sabanadze.
The participants of the meeting discussed the results achieved during the reporting period of the project and identified the future activities.
The representatives of EU delegation, the project team - members of the “Hulla & Co Human Dynamics KG”, beneficiary agencies and officials from the MIA and State Security Service attended the meeting.
The project has been running since 2018 in close relationship with the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. The project aims to support the MIA in combating organized crime.
The main objectives of the project are: Enhancing international law enforcement cooperation, strengthening capabilities of the Interagency Coordinating Council for Combating Organized Crime, strengthening Analytical capacities of the MIA, implementing human-rights oriented approaches in the fight against organized crime, combating cybercrime, raising awareness of the dangers causes by organized crime and etc.
