The Ministry of Internal Affairs hosted the representatives of the Departments for the Fight against Drugs and International Relations from the National Police of the Turkish Republic. The guests were met by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Lado Bortsvadze and the Head of the Central Criminal Police Department, Mamuka Tchelidze.
At the meeting the parties discussed current challenges in the field of illegal circulation of drugs and the importance of cooperation in combating the mentioned crime. Georgian law enforcers familiarized Turkish counterparts with the results achieved in combating smuggling and distribution of drugs and shared their experience in this regard.
Participants of the meeting have also discussed perspectives of enhancing the existing relations in the future and agreed on conducting joint operations.
Within the frames of the visit, members of the Turkish delegation also met with the Director of the Forensic-Criminalistics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and had an opportunity to see the newly constructed building and laboratories of the Department.
