Director of Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia- Vazha Siradze and Director of International Relations Department- Ekaterine Machavariani participated in the final conference of the EU funded project “Prometheus”.
Closing event of the project was also attended by the Ambassador of European Union (EU) to Georgia- Carl Hartzell, Ambassador of France to Georgia, Diego Colas, the delegation of the Ministry of Interior of France and representatives of International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).
The event participants highlighted the importance of visa-free travel in the process of Georgia's European integration and the steps taken by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to successfully fulfill its obligations, as well as summarized the role of project activities in enhancing the capacities of Patrol Police Department to combat irregular migration and strengthen border management.
At the end of the conference, the parties emphasized the importance of deepening future cooperation in terms of successful implementation of commitments in the process of European integration.
The EU-funded project Prometheus was implemented in close cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, the French Ministry of Interior and CIVIPOL.
