5-day training course organized by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for the representatives of the Central Criminal Police, Patrol Police and Tbilisi Police Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs concluded. Training was held at the MIA Academy with the support of the State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
The closing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S., Rian Harker Harris and the Heads of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), who awarded certificates to the training participants.
The training was led by the trainers from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). American instructors shared with Georgian law enforcers their expertise and experience related to live-fire range, search and entry techniques, tactical medicine and other important issues related to the fight against drug related crime.
The aim of the course was to improve crime fighting skills, analyze modern methods and share experience of relevant U.S. entities.
