Director of the Public Safety Command Center “112” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Arsoshvili and UNFPA Representative in Turkey, Country Director for Georgia and Azerbaijan, Hassan Mohtashami sighed the Memorandum of Understanding.
The overall purpose of the Memorandum is to strengthen cooperation between the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Public Safety Command Center “112”, especially, within the cooperation, using the “112” mobile application, it is planned to provide information to the target audience about the prevention measures and state services for early/child marriage, as well as, to produce information campaign.
The initiative will be carried out within the United Nations Joint Program on Gender Equality, funded by Sweden.
Giorgi Arsoshvili underlined that the fight against child marriage is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its elimination will ensure the health, well-being and gender equality for juveniles.
At the end of the meeting, the Director of “112” thanked the United Nations Population fund (UNFPA) for its continuous support to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
