The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia detained a fugitive in Tbilisi wanted by the UK. UK citizen J.S.S., born in 1987, appeared at Vake-Saburtalo Police Division accompanied by his lawyer on January 23, 2019 and handed himself over to the police.
Within the framework of British-Georgian law enforcement co-operation, the search of J.S.S. was announced through international channels on January 12, 2019.
J.S.S. was found guilty for negligent manslaughter by the Central Criminal Court of London and sentenced for 6 years of imprisonment. The accident took place on December 8, 2015.
At this stage, pre-extradition procedures prescribed by the law are carried out regarding the detained person.
