The employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have started an investigation with regards to the explosion that took place in the shooting range of the "Battleground" store on Bochorma Street N12 in Tbilisi under the third part of Article 240 (1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to the violation of safety rules at electric or thermal energy, gas, oil or petroleum products facility, resulting in the loss of two or more lives.
Forensic experts, mine-clearing unit and employees of other relevant divisions continue to work at the scene.
Experts from various fields are also working on site, including experts from the Fire and Explosives Research Service, as well as an engineering expert from the energy department of Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the causes of the explosion.
Firemen, rescuers, representatives of the patrol police and criminal police arrived at the scene of the explosion in the shooting range of the "Battleground" store on Bochorma Street N12.
Firefighters found 2 dead bodies and 4 injured individuals at the scene, one of whom died in the clinic.
1 of the deceased is an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Two of the injured persons are employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and one is an employee of the "Battleground" store.
