As a result of the intensive search and rescue operation carried out by the firemen and rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Service under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, all bodies of victims were found in the village of Nergeti, Baghdati municipality.
"At the moment, all nine bodies have been exhumed by the firefighters of the Emergency Situations Management Service. In fact, we have completed the search and rescue operation and the final phase of road clearan-up is underway. Bodies have already been identified," - noted Temur Mghebrishvili, head of the Emergency service of MIA.
More than 200 rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Service carried out intensive search operations in the epicenter of the disaster with appropriate equipment, water transport and drones. A group of K-9 experts were involved in the search-and-rescue operation as well.
The rescue operation was led by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Ioseb Chelidze and the Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service - Temur Mghebrishvili.
