A landslide occurred in Imereti region due to heavy rainfall, as a result of which 4 residential houses were buried under the collapsed land masses. The rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been working in emergency mode for several hours.
In the village of Nergeti of Baghdati municipality, within the frames of the search and rescue operation, 1 citizen has been rescued at the moment and transferred to a safe place, 3 bodies have been found, while search and rescue work is still in progress for 6 people.
Temur Mghebrishvili, the head of the Emergency Situations Management Service, already arrived in the disaster zone and is in charge of the ongoing rescue activities.
More than 200 firemen and rescuers, representatives of various structural units of the local government and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are at the disaster sites, appropriate equipment is mobilized, as well as drones and a group of k-9 experts, while work is in progress.
