As a result of the ongoing rescue operation in Oni municipality, conducted by the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, approximately 70 citizens in the disaster area have been transferred to a safe venue.
Border police helicopters have already performed 3 flights and the rescue operation is still in progress.
Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs, Ioseb Chelidze and Giorgi Butkhuzi, Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service - Teimuraz Mghebrishvili are at the site of the affected zone and lead the rescue operation.
2 helicopters of the border police, fire-rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Service of the Ministry, employees of police units and representatives of all relevant state agencies are involved in the operation.
