The Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to inform public that movement of vehicles will be restricted in the capital during the pre-preparation period for the ceremonial events dedicated to Georgia's Independence Day and on May 26.
On May 23, starting at 00:00, traffic will be completely restricted on Freedom Square, Rustaveli Avenue and First Republic Square.
Also, traffic movement will be restricted on all streets intersecting with Rustaveli Avenue.
Vehicles will be able to move through Baratashvili and Tabukashvili streets, in the direction of Merab Kostava and Sanapiro streets.
Movement from Mtatsminda will be allowed through Asatiani street, in the direction of Gorgasli square.
Also, the traffic moving on Kote Abkhazi Street (former Leselidze Street) will be permitted through Silver Street, in the direction of Baratashvili Street.
The movement of vehicles will be prohibited on the ramp leading from the right bank to Baratashvili Street.
Vehicles will be able to move in the direction of Vakhtang Gorgasli street.
Transport moving from the Baratashvili descent, after crossing the Baratashvili bridge, will only be moving on the ramp near the House of Justice, in the direction of the right bank.
Cars moving in the direction of Mtatsminda will be moving to Petre Melikishvili Street, through Simon Janashia, Ivane Tarkhnishvili and Tamar Chovelidze streets, from where they will continue their route in the direction of Chonkadze Street.
Also, the traffic flow from Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue will be able to continue its movement, through Petre Melikishvili and Merab Kostava streets, in the direction of the river side.
Employees of the Patrol Police Department will regulate the traffic flow in order to ensure traffic safety and prevent disruptions.
In case of necessity, patrol inspectors will also provide information about alternative routes to drivers.
From May 27, after dismantling the decorations intended for the event, the restrictions will be completely lifted and traffic flow will be restored.
