We would like to provide the information to the public on events planned in Tbilisi within the frames of International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.
According to the information provided to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, various events will take place in public places of Tbilisi on May 15-20 in connection with the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.
Upon the written reference from the organizers, for the purposes of ensuring safety during the events planned in public space, the Ministry of Internal Affairs discussed the issue of security mechanisms and alternative venues for the events with them, however, in some cases, the venues remained unchanged by the decision of the organizers.
The police ensures the protection of public safety and order, as well as the freedom of expression of each individual, which should not exceed the limits allowed by the law.
Any other action, which may endanger the safety of citizens and their health, will be adequately responded by the police.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is a guarantee for safety of the society. The Ministry will protect the right of any citizen, irrespective of race, skin color, language, sex, sexual orientation, age, religion, political belief, as well as any other rights guaranteed by the law.
