On February 23, 2021, within the frames of the ongoing investigation on the fact of resisting to the law enforcement officers committed in group, Article 353, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, the officers of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs seized and sealed various computer equipment from the headquarters of the “United National Movement” political party located on Kakheti Highway, Tbilisi, as there was a risk of destroying and/or obstructing the extraction of evidential materials that were important to the case.
The court recognized the mentioned investigative measure as legal action.
Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed the “United National Movement” party representatives that the agency was ready to return the computer equipment seized from the party headquarters, however, the offer was rejected.
After the mentioned, the Ministry of Internal Affairs sent an official letter to the political party suggesting to appoint a legal representative to whom the technical equipment removed from the party office would be handed over.
