Regarding the fact of violence that took place against B.G. at Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport on December 12, 2019, Court made a decision to impose bail in the amount of 2000 GEL against Giorgi Ugulava. As an additional measure, he was obliged to submit and handover passport and an ID document of Georgia.
According to the decision of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Giorgi Ugulava was sentenced to imprisonment with regard to the case of the so-called “Funds”, and during the court hearing on the case of violence at the airport, the measure of restraint applied to Giorgi Ugulava regarding the bail and the additional obligation of passport and ID documents handover was suspended.
The decision on annulling the obligation on passport and ID document handover was not received by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and therefore, the information in the database remained unchanged. Considering the above mentioned, Giorgi Ugulava could not cross the state border.
At this moment, there is no restriction imposed against Giorgi Ugulava in the database and he has the right to cross the state border.
