The Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to inform citizens that on October 29, the final, pre-election event of the United National Movement is planned to be held in Tbilisi, due to which the traffic movement will be restricted in some districts of the capital.
Traffic movement will be completely restricted on Freedom Square and traffic will be moving by alternate routes, in particular:
The traffic from Baratashvili Bridge is moving in the direction of the House of Justice. Movement for large-sized transport is restricted at Vakhtang Gorgasali Square. Other types of transport are moving on Kote Abkhazi Street and passing through Silver Street to the direction of Baratashvili Street; Traffic from Lado Asatiani Street will not be able to reach Shalva Dadiani Street. Therefore, vehicles will be moving through Ovanes Tumanyan Street in the direction of Vakhtang Gorgasali Square; Vehicles moving on Merab Kostava Street return to the former post service office building and continue moving in the direction of Elbakidze Street.
Due to the rally, from 17:00 traffic movement will be prohibited on following streets:
- On Republic Square, to Petre Melikishvili Street traffic will be directed to Merab Kostava Street and Elbakidze Descent, to both sides of the Mtkvari River and Chugureti;
- Rustaveli Avenue and all the crossing streets: Alexander Chavchavadze, Mitropane Laghidze, Besiki, April 9, Zakaria Chichinadze, Lesia Ukrainka, Meskhia, Revaz Laghidze, Vaso Abashidze, Gia Chanturia, Archil Jorjadze and Anton Street;
During the restriction, vehicles will be able to move freely on both sides of Mtkvari River, Vasil Petriashvili, Tamar Chovelidze and Daniel Chonkadze streets.
The safe movement of the traffic will be regulated by patrol police crews. If necessary, drivers will receive additional instructions from patrol inspectors.
Traffic movement will resume as soon as the rally is completed.
