According to the decision of the Inter-agency Coordination Council of the Georgian government, in order to prevent the spreading of the new coronavirus disease and to offer prompt response on the cases of possible infection, contemporary field tents were installed at every land border checkpoint and all three airports across the country, to accommodate passengers arriving from WHO-designated high-risk zones before their referral to special facilities.
After thermo-screening and other respective procedures, passengers arriving from WHO-designated high-risk zones will be accommodated in semi-thermal, modern-standard field tents instead of waiting in open areas, where ambulance crew will be present in round-the-clock regime.
Main Division of the Border Management and Coordination under the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in order to prevent the spreading of the new coronavirus disease and to offer prompt response on the cases of possible infection, conduct inspection of passengers arriving from the countries defined as high risk zones by the World Health at the state border crossing checkpoints in round-the-clock regime.
At the state border crossing checkpoints, border guards are previously informed regarding the travel history of passengers based on which, travelers are being inspected and preliminary risk assessment conducted. Information on high risk travelers is provided to the representatives of the Customs Department of the Ministry of Finance and Emergency Services for the respective further actions.
