In the special operation, conducted by State Security Service at Beri Gabriel Salosi Street in Tbilisi, employees of the Special Tasks Department, Tbilisi Police Department and Patrol Police were involved as well as fire-rescuers of Emergency Situations Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. All of the mentioned units operated within the field of their authority.
Patrol Police, in cooperation with the State Security Service protected the perimeter throughout the special operation in order to ensure safety of the local residents. Police conducted time- phased evacuation of the building dwellers. Law enforcers strictly monitored movement of the local residents along the perimeter. Every action of Patrol Police was directed to ensure safety of the citizens.
During the special operation no civilians were injured.
Minister of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Gakharia visited the site, where special operation was conducted. During the entire day, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Kakhaber Sabanadze and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Merab Malania were present on the territory.
Health condition of four members of the Special Forces, under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and State Security Service, wounded in the course of the operation, is stable at the moment.
Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to express deepest condolences over the death of the officer of Special Operations Main Division under the State Security Agency.
