With the support of the Bureau of Anti-Narcotics and Law Enforcement Cooperation (INL) of the US Embassy and organized by the "International Association of Chiefs of Police" (IACP) , an international conference and exhibition was held in the city of Dallas of the United States of America, which was attended by a high-level delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
From the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, the aforementioned conference held in the United States of America was attended by following persons: Director of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Mr. Vazha Siradze, Head of the Unified Service Center of the Patrol Police – Mrs. Mariam Chikaidze, Director of the Police Department of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara – Mr. Grigol Beselia, Vice-Rector of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs –Mrs. Irina Abramishvili, Deputy Director of Central Criminal Police Department –Mr. Lasha Gogniashvili and Director of Tbilisi Police Department – Mr. Sulkhan Tamazashvili.
Within the framework of the visit, the delegates of the Ministry of Internal Affairs took part in the thematic trainings and working group meetings such as: study of cases of high visibility events; community and police involvement; critical incident management and critical incident response; innovations in policing; officer safety and welfare; organizational culture and development of leadership skills; the intersection of public health and public safety; Violent crime, etc.
Members of the delegation also attended the exhibition, where they visited the latest innovations in the field of law enforcement, including practical exhibits, continuous educational spaces, the latest technological trends, tactical equipment, vehicles, intelligence technologies and others.
The annual conference and exhibition of the "International Association of Chiefs of Police" is the largest and most extensive event of the year in the field of law enforcement, within the framework of which more than 16,000 law enforcement officers meet each other, share experiences, learn about new techniques and trends, improve their knowledge and competence, etc.
US embassy in Georgia has been cooperating with the Ministry of Internal Affairs for many years on the matters of road safety, cyber security, domestic violence, trafficking, tactical training, enhancing the capacities of MIA Academy, juvenile crime prevention, etc.
