The employees of the Central Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tbilisi, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Ajara, Guria, Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Kvemo Kartli, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Kakheti Police Departments, as a result of recently conducted intensive operational measures and investigative actions arrested 46 people for drug-related crimes, including 36 drug dealers.
Among those arrested are citizens of Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Egypt, Nigeria, Iran, Yemen and Jordan.
The following persons are arrested on charges of illegal selling of drugs and the attempted selling of narcotics: I.T. (DoB1982), L.S. (DoB 1995), N.G. (DoB 2000), E.M. (DoB 1991), D.M. (DoB 1983), P.S. (DoB 1978), J.G. (DoB 1979), D.T. (DoB 1990), E.A. (DoB 2001), M.A. (DoB1984), A.K. (DoB 1973), A.A. (DoB 1999), B.Kh (DoB1985) and S.N. (DoB 2001).
Previously convicted M.A. (DoN 1984), D.B. (DoN 1990), G.Kh. (DoB 1985), O.M. (DoB 1995), G.K. (DoB 1987), R.N. (DoB 1986), Z.T. (DoB 1972), G.B. (DoB 1979), A.B. (DoB 1974), A.K. (DoB 1984), S.A. (DoB 1996), L.V. (DoB 2002), R.A (DoB 1987) and T.T.(DoB 1999).
Foreign citizens were also detained, namely: I.D. (DoB 1965), F.L. (DoB 1999), H.M. (DoB 1991), M.A. (DoB 1989), M.S. (DoB 2001), I.I. (DoB 1988), M.T (DoB 1996) and previously convicted N.D. (DoB1976).
Arrested on charges of illegal purchase and storage of narcotic drugs are the following persons: Z.Gh. (DoB 1963), G.V. (DoB 1986), A.Kh. (DoB 1980), G.J. (DoB 1970), R.A. (DoB 2003), B.K. (DoB 1971), E.T. (DoB 1974), previously convicted B.T. (DoB 1993) and foreign citizens: R.F., (DoB 1985), V.Kh. (DoB 1991).
The committed crimes envision up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
Based on the relevant court decision, police made control purchases of drugs from persons arrested on charges of illegal selling of drugs several times and secretly made audio-video recording depicting the mentioned process.
Various types of drugs in large and especially large quantities were seized as evidence, namely: "Heroin", "Methadone", "Buprenorphine", "Alpha PVP", "Lyrica", "Ketamine", "Methamphetamine", "LSD", "Marijuana", The plant containing the narcotic drug "cannabis", as well as electric scales and, presumably, the money obtained from the illegal sale of drugs.
The employees of the Central Criminal Police Department, as a result of complex investigative actions conducted in cooperation with the General Prosecutor's Office, identified an active organized group of drug dealers and arrested 3 persons on charges of drug-related crimes. Members of the organized group were citizens of Ukraine and Georgia.
The arrested persons were involved in drug dealing schemes. In particular, through the Internet application, for the purpose of further sale, detainees placed narcotic drugs at specific locations, which were sent to the interested persons with appropriate instructions and coordinates.
The investigation is being conducted under articles 260, 19-260, 261, 263, 265, 273, 273(1) and 19-273(1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
