Within the frames of strategy elaborated by interagency coordination board on the fight against organized crime the campaign against the mentioned issue was launched. Campaign is aimed at informing people on threats of organized crime as well as on its impact. Importance of necessity of cooperation between public and law enforcers is also among goals of the mentioned campaign.
In order to raise awareness of the public MIA prepared informative booklets on organized crime. The mentioned booklets were spread among society by the district inspectors. Inspectors also informed people regarding the mentioned issue.
Interagency coordination board on the fight against organized crime which is headed by the Minister of Internal Affairs has elaborated national strategy on the fight against the mentioned issue, which was adopted by the Georgian government on October2, 2013. National strategy is especially focused on preventive activities and raising awareness of the public regarding the organized crime.
