The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched a public awareness campaign – „Know that the Law Protects You!” aimed at combating organized crime.
One of the priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is the fight against organized crime. Central Criminal Police Department, with the support of the European Union, has planned an information campaign to combat organized crime.
The aim of the campaign is to raise public awareness regarding the fight against organized crime, as well as increase the level of trust towards police.
The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and the Deputy Head of Cooperation of the European Union Delegation to Georgia, Catalin Gherman delivered the opening remarks.
Within the framework of the campaign, four informational videos were produced with the aim to help combat organized crime and raise public awareness on the issue, the main message of which is - "Know that the Law Protects You!”.
Mamuka Chelidze, Director of the Central Criminal Police Department, presented a report to the invited guests on the activities of the Department. The report recapped the measures carried to combat organized crime, international law enforcement cooperation and achieved results.
Representatives of different Ministries, Embassies of the European Union and United States, as well as partner organizations, attended the event.
The information campaign was carried out within the framework of the EU-funded project "Support the Fight against Organized Crime in Georgia".
