As a result of recent operational measures and investigative actions, officers of the Main Division for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking of the Central Criminal Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested 6 people on charges of selling drugs.
Among those arrested are both Georgian and foreign citizens.
The following individuals have been arrested on charges of illegal selling, preparation of selling, attempted selling, purchase and storage of large and especially large quantities of narcotic drugs by a group with a prior agreement: citizen of the Republic of Belarus U.H., born in 1996, citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan O.A., born in 1992, A.S., born in 2000, Z.S., born in 1954 and previously convicted persons: D.S., born in 1976, and F.I., born in 1985.
The committed crimes envision up to 20 years or life imprisonment
The employees of the Central Criminal Police Department, based on a judge's ruling, carried out controlled drug purchases from detainees several times and secretly recorded the aforementioned process.
As a result of the personal search and search activities held in residential homes, as well as during the investigative experiment, law enforcement officers seized a particularly large amount of narcotics - "cocaine", "methadone", "heroin" and "marijuana" from the locations indicated by them. Police officers also seized money and electric scales, allegedly obtained as a result of drug sales.
The investigation is underway under Articles 260, 19-260, 18-273 and 273 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
