The employees of the Central Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tbilisi, Imereti Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Adjara, Shida Kartli, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Kakheti Police Departments, as a result of recent conducted operational measures and investigative actions, arrested 52 people on drug-related crimes in Tbilisi and the regions of the country including 37 drug dealers.
Citizens of Georgia, Germany, Ukraine, Turkey, Russian Federation, Nigeria, India and Iran are arrested on charges of illegal purchase and selling, attempted selling, and smuggling of large and especially large quantities of drugs into Georgia.
The following persons were arrested for illegal selling and attempted selling drugs: Turkish citizens - F.K., (DoB 1991) and I.I. (DoB 1981), Indian citizen - I.I., (DoB 1999), Nigerian citizens - I.I., (DoB 1995) and D.I. (DoB 2002), and citizen of Russia E.G. (DoB 1995).
Also, citizens of Georgia - G.A. (DoB 2000), E.G. (DoB 1982), E.Z. (DoB 2000), L.T. (DoB 1973), A.S. (DoB 1994), G.Ch (DoB 1993), G.B. (DoB 1983), E.M. (DoB 1992), D.K. (DoB 1976), I.G. (DoB 1988), R.S. (DoB 2007), K.G. (DoB 1978), R.M., (DoB 1998), R.M. (DoB 1956), G.A. (DoB 1984), persons convicted in the past - G.Ch., (DoB 1966), I.J. (DoB 1974), Z.Kh. (DoB1974) M.G (DoB 1970), A.T. (DoB 1970) S.I. (DoB 1993) N.M. (DoB 1979), D.E. (DoB 1991) T.B (DoB 1979), J.I., (DoB 1976), G.G. (DoB 1982), L.I. (DoB 1978), A.Kh. (DoB 2002), G.S. (DoB 1995), N.G. (DoB 1989) and D.K. (DoB 1977).
The mentioned persons are arrested on charges of illegal purchase and possession of a large and especially large amount of drugs, illegal purchase and storage of marijuana, as well as illegal sowing, growing, cultivation and smuggling of a plant containing a particularly large amount of narcotic drugs into Georgia:
N.M. (DoB 1988), T.K. (DoB 1990), J.B. (DoB 1995), G.B. (DoB 1991), citizens of Ukraine - M.B. (DoB 1973), M.D. (DoB 1978) and E.C. (DoB 1979), German citizen, T.D. (DoB 1976), Turkish citizens - O.K., (DoB 1989), O.B., (DoB 1980), K.D. (DoB 1979) and E.K (DoB1991).
Also, the citizen of Iran, born in 1982, G.I., and two persons convicted in the past - D.L., (DoB 1992) and N.V. (DoB 1999).
The committed crimes envision up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
The investigation determined that the individuals arrested for selling and attempted selling of drugs were involved in drug selling schemes. The defendants placed drugs in specific locations, which were then sent to persons interested in the purchase with appropriate designations and coordinates.
The police, based on the judge's ruling, made several controlled purchases of drugs and secretly recorded the whole process.
The law enforcement officers, during the personal search and search activities conducted in residential apartments and vehicles of the detainees, seized a large and particularly large amount of various types of drugsas evidence.
Law enforcers seized: Heroin, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Opium, Pregabalin, Amphetamine, Mdma, Ecstasy, Buprenorphine, Methadone, Dried Marijuana, Plant "Cannabis" and various psychotropic substances.
Firearms were also recovered from two persons arrested for drug-related crimes.
The investigation is being conducted under articles 260, 19-260, 261, 262 and 273 (1), 263, 265 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
