On April 5 of the current year, at 12: 12 am, the "112" was reported on injury of a foreign citizen, allegedly mountaineer, in the Mount Kazbek (Mkinvartsveri).
The mentioned report was transmitted to Mtskheta-Mtianeti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at 12:16 am. Law enforcers made an immediate reaction to the notification. Investigation is in progress under the Article 116 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which implies negligent manslaughter.
According to the initial information of the investigation, 4 mountaineers, including 2 foreign and 2 Georgian citizens, were on the Mount Kazbek. As it is known to the law enforcers at this time, one of the foreign citizens has slipped and is likely to be injured.
The helicopter of Georgian Air Navigation, along with the pilot of the Border Police, joined the rescue operation and flew to the Mount Kazbek.
The helicopter, due to complicated meteorological conditions, despite several attempts, has not managed to land and transfer the injured person to the hospital yet.
