The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to monitor the implementation of the rules and recommendations against the spread of Covid-19 across the country in accordance with the decision of the Interagency Coordination Council of the Government of Georgia.
The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department fined two COVID- infected taxi drivers - G.F. born in 1988, and Z.S., born in 1975 for violating the rules of isolation and quarantine in Tbilisi.
G.F. was diagnosed with Covid-19 as a result of testing on January 5,2021 while Z.K.- on January 13, due to which they were recommended with self-isolation by the medical staff. However, the mentioned citizens abandoned the place of isolation on their own will.
Law enforcement officers fined COVID-infected G.F. when he was driving on Tseronisi Street, Tbilisi. As for Z.S., he was fined while driving a taxi near shopping center “Karvasa”.
Both COVID-infected citizens were fined with 2000-2000 GEL under the article 42-10 of the Code of Administrative Offences. After fining, the mentioned persons, were taken to the hotel allocated for Covid-infected citizens.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on citizens to demonstrate high public responsibility and comply with the imposed regulations.
