From today, September 2, based on the decision made by the Interagency Coordination Council, quarantine restrictions have been lifted in Mestia and Langer. Consequently, the checkpoints set up by the police have been removed and citizens can move freely.
For the period of 22 days the Police monitored on a continuous basis quarantine restrictions in Svaneti region. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs patrolled intensively to maintain public order and security. In addition, the police ensured escorting of citizens from Svaneti to the quarantine areas in different regions with maximum observance of safety norms.
Due to the high epidemiological risk, entry and exit to Mestia and Langer was restricted from 10 August.
