The employees of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operational measures and investigative actions detained a foreign citizen - L.L. (DoB 1992) in Zestaponi municipality, on charges of human trafficking.
The committed crime envisions from 12 to 15 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that the accused person, promised to be employed in one of the beauty salons in Batumi to the citizens of the Republic of Thailand - I.C. (DoB 1987), T.J. (DoB 1985) and P.S. (DoB1984) who arrived to Georgia with this goal. L.L. tricked them into his place of temporary residence in the town of Zestaponi, confiscated their ID documents and forced them to provide sexual services to clients in exchange for certain payment.
The police, as a result of operational and investigative actions detained L. L. as an accused.
Illegally seized passports, money obtained as a result of forced sexual services, as well as mobile phones and computer equipment were seized as evidence.
The investigation is being conducted according to Article 143, part III, sub-paragraph "B" of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to human trafficking (trafficking) against two or more persons.
