Ministry of Internal Affairs marks Policemen’s Day on Maya 30 in Batumi. The official solemn ceremony was attended by the Prime-Minister Irakli Gharibashvili who delivered speech in front of police officers and congratulated them with the professional day. Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Tchikaidze congratulated MIA employees with the professional day and awarded active and veteran police officers.
Solemn event is also attended by: members of the Georgian government, Chairman of Georgian Parliament, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country and high-rank officials from partner countries’ law enforcing agencies.
After the completion of the official part of the event, Prime –Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs have viewed exhibition along with other guests, where various police units presented their auto park, technic, firearms and ammunition.
At the exhibition Patrol Police auto park is presented, in particular: vehicles- “Skoda” and “Mini Cooper”, motorcycles, electro mobile, Segway, combat armoured vehicles: “Cobra” “Wolf” “Defender” “Man TGM 13-250” Security Police vehicle-“Skoda” electro-moto, aviation security vehicle and armoured vehicle for encashment as well as vehicle for firefighting. Border Police presented helicopter which applied for rescue operations and for transportation of personnel in mountain regions as well as for quadrocycles, snowmobiles and 7 patrol boats. In the special tent special ammunition of the Ministry was presented, while MIA Forensic Main Division exhibited portable laboratory which demonstrated fingerprint and habitoscopic expertise on the scene. MIA Emergency Management Department exhibited Snow mobile and decontamination tent where special equipment applied during chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear incidents were exhibited. Emergency Response Center “112” exhibited “GPS Trackers” enabling tourists to locate their precise whereabouts via satellite systems. “112” also presented video animation on monitors about the innovative projects. MIA archive presented museum pieces- historical police uniforms, as well as documentary films prepared by the archive, magazines and books.
In Batumi Boulevard various events are held, in particular: virtual shooting range, capacity presentation of Patrol Police motorcycles and “Mini Coopers”, presentation of practical and theoretical exams for receiving driver’s license and demonstration of evacuation slides, inflatable and rescue mattresses.
The event will be completed with the concert of “Newton” Band.
