The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Vakhtang Gomelauri held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Ernst Peter Fischer, also attended by Diedrich Ebers, the Police Liaison Officer of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia.
The parties discussed the importance of close and fruitful cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Georgia and Germany. Minister of Internal Affairs expressed his gratitude towards the German side for their contribution in the capacity building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
Within the framework of the meeting, the current security situation in the region was also discussed. The parties highlighted the particular importance of Georgia’s European integration and discussed implemented and ongoing activities in this regard.
At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed the future perspectives of cooperation in order to further strengthening relations between Georgia and Germany.
