The Minister of Internal Affairs - Vakhtang Gomelauri and the Chairman of the Central Election Commission - Giorgi Kalandarishvili, signed a Memorandum of Understanding in order to ensure that October 2, 2021 local elections are held in a safe and peaceful environment.
According to the memorandum, within the frames of the areas of expertise, coordinated exchange of information will take place between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Central Election Commission. In addition to the mentioned, the memorandum also envisages the organization of joint trainings and workshops. Forms of cooperation and the relevant legal framework between the parties during the election period have also been defined.
