Deputy Assistant Secretary of U.S. Department of State, Erika Olson, along with the Head of the Bureau of International and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), Sarah Rupert, visited Forensic-Criminalistics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Guests were hosted by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Butkhuzi. The meeting was also attended by the Directors of Forensic-Criminalistics Department and International Relations Department.
Deputy Minister familiarized Erika Olson with the specifics of the work of Forensic-Criminalistics Department and afterwards toured through following laboratories: Biological, Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Examination, Ballistics, Fingerprints, Facial Recognition, Photo-Video and Computer-Technical Examination and shooting range.
Giorgi Butkhuzi expressed gratitude to Erika Olson for U.S. contribution in capacity building of Forensic-Criminalistics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and emphasized the importance of future cooperation.
