Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs, Ioseb Tchelidze and Vladimer Bortsvadze met parents of the missing Ilia Pilpani in Lenjeri village, Mestia municipality.
Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs provided parents of the missing minor with detailed information on the activities implemented by the various units of the agency.
Search activities of Ilia Pilpani was launched by the Ministry of Internal Affairs as soon as the report was received, involving 80 rescuer-firefighters of Emergency Situations Service, police units, drones, patrol boat and border police helicopter. Search activities are held in round-the-clock regime in Svaneti as well as in Black Sea coastline. Photo of Ilia Pilpani has been sent to all sub-units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs across the country.
Within the frames of the search activities rescuers have already held inspection of the following territories: Kashveti village venues, Mestiatchala river banks, territories adjacent to the so called Marshitchala forest, venues from Becho to Zugdidi, Enguri river banks, slopes and gorges, old tunnels located near Khoko village, slopes and valleys of Latali, Lenjeri, Lakhamura and Jorkvali villages. Rescuers have also searched other villages, namely: Soli, Kaeri, Lemsia, Kashveti, Lashtghveri, Nesguni, Qureli, Fari, upper and lower Lukha, Lakhamura, Noda, Magardi, Lezgara, Svipi, Ghvebaldi as well as abandoned houses and towers located in mentioned venues, public school N1 of Lenjeri village and building of kindergarten N2, Mestia, Latali and Lamsia mountains, Megviri district, venues from Laghami to Lanchvala villages, mushroom neighborhood of Lanchvali village and territories from Latali to Becho. Rescuers have also held monitoring activities of from Khaishi village to the direction of Zugdidi main highway, from Tchubeti water reservoir to Enguri river banks and forest area near Mestia ropeway. Water reservoir of “Engurhesi” has also been inspected superficially. Rescuers have additionally inspected River banks of Shavi Gele in Etseri village, from Mestia archangel church up to forested slopes venues of Lenjeri village, forest area of Hebuti and Hatsvali, river banks of the mentioned venues leading to the alpine zones.
Rescuers have also inspected pasture stalls in mountains, abandoned houses and tunnels. Search activities are also held on Enguri river and “Engurhesi”.
In parallel with the mentioned, rescuers have thoroughly inspected 136km section of Mestia-Zugdidi central highway.
As soon as the report was received regarding the missing minor, Mestia police division of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti police department has launched investigation on the fact of illegal restriction of freedom of an under-aged person perpetrated on purpose, crime envisaged under the article 143, II part, sub-paragraph “D” of the Criminal Code of Georgia. All information related to the disappearance of a minor or his possible whereabouts is being checked by the law enforcement officers.
